Bishop William B. Caractor

Bishop William B. Caractor was born in New York City in April 18, 1948 and graduated from Freeport High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army from 1965 t0 1968 as an Airborne Infantryman and spent a tour in Viet Nam. Bishop Caractor continued his education by attending Hoffstra University, where he received his B/S and M/S and heeding to the call of God, he attended Dickerson Theological Seminary on the campus of Allen University, where he received his Doctorate in Divinty. Bishop Caractor also attended Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science where he received his A/S and continue to practice the art of embalming.

Bishop Caractor was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and pastored as a Itinerate Elder before founding Discovered Being Ministry, Incorporated where he is now the Presiding Bishop.

Bishop Caractor is also a Civil Rights Activist in the area of Fair Housing. For Thirty-Five years, Bishop Caractor has filed legal briefs in the United States District Courts on behalf of people who felt they were discriminated against based on Race, Color, Religion, Familial Status and Handicap.

Discovered Being Ministry, Incorporated is a non for profit organization as defined in section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code and serve low income communities through the outreach called C.L.O.W.N.S. Tutoral Program (Children, Love, Obedience, Wisdom, Nourishment, Success)

Bishop Caractor is married to Reverend Helen Macdonald Caractor and is the father of Five children, Three by a previous marriage.

Bishop Caractor has two children who are now in ministry. The Reverend Reggie Kaye Caractor and Evangelist Jacklyn C. Stevenson. It is with pleasure that I serve God's people and I take on the word SERVANT.
